Oops! Sofia came down with running nose and cough today. *very sian*
We don't like it when she is sick, she has diffculty sleeping (block nose), drinking milk and no appetite to eat her porridge. She ends up being very grouchy and moody.
Brought her to see Dr Lim in the afternoon and was given some cold syrup and to monitor her in case she gets a fever ... hope Sofia gets well soon!

Single Mum?
Daddy left for KL today, after spending Christmas with us in Singapore. It was not all that bad for us sending him off at Changi Airport, Sofia was in deep sleep after the 40-minute taxi ride. It was probably the toughest for Daddy to part with Sofia and realised that he was truly infected by "Sofia-miss-a-lot" virus hours later and vaccination is not available for this virus yet. Apparently, "Sofia-miss-a-lot" virus is much stronger than "Bee-miss-a-lot" virus and can only be pacified temporary by replacing Bee's photo with Sofia's photo in Daddy's PDA.
After waving bye-bye to Daddy through the thick glass panels till the last sight of him was no longer possible, a huge wave of emotions rushed over me as I stand there with a sleeping girl and our maid. It seems that in a matter of spilt seconds, the responsibility of the entire household has fallen on my shoulders. Funny as it seems, I cannot put a size to it, yet my shoulders caved in under the weight ...
We took MRT back to my mum's place, thinking Sofia would probably enjoy the train ride after learning so much about trains on Baby Signing Times. Unfortunately, she was bored with me sitting down and the train being underground. So much so that she started complaining which escalated to wailing and screaming. Some helpful fellow passengers around tried to distract her but all failed. In the end, I had to carry her and stand at the door so that she can watch the passing by scenery. What a ride! I am certainly going to think twice or thrice before we step into a MRT again!

Christmas in Singapore
I have always enjoyed the Christmas season in Singapore. Firstly, it is always cooler duing this period and sleeping in late during school holidays can't be better! Secondly, Orchard road will be lited up with beautiful Christmas lightings and it just turn the warnth and romance on immediately!
We chose to spend Christmas in Singapore this year since we couldn't last year, me being in the 38th week of pregnancy. We spend a lot of time catching up with friends, bringing Sofia to the zoo, etc ... here are a few photos to share:

Vasant is Daddy's ex-colleague in Kuching but has now returned to India. They were in Singapore for a trip on Star Cruise.

Pastor Lin was our pastor in Jing Daw Chinese Methodist Church (Kuching) for 3 years and Faith Methodist for 1 year thereafter. They have decided to move to Singapore since Pastor Sharon is a Singaporean and had only arrived couple of days ago.

Christmas in Singapore!
Counting our days down to 20 Dec and we will be heading back to Singapore for Christmas!
It is much more exciting to spend Christmas in Singapore than in Kuching because the little island is always so beautifully lited up during this season. There will be choirs perfoming in the public singing beautiful Christmas hymns ... nicely decorated Christmas trees in the malls and even fake snow!! Haha. More importantly, I just want to show Sofia around. She gets very excited these days when outdoors and is fascinated by every single thing she sees, from flowers to birds, cars, motorbikes, cats, dogs, moon, etc. Sofia will stretch out her hands and go "OOOOHHH" or "WWAAHHHHH" at whatever she sees.
It is amazing to watch her grow, do wish that I am just half as fascinated as her though.

The Big Move (Part I)
08 Dec 2007 - The Big Move happened today, after weeks of packing. We all started at 9:30am fresh and ready. The movers came and started wrapping the big items with protective film, the item we were most worried about was the piano cos it was the most difficult item to move in the house.
Sofia seems to know something is going on and refuse to take her naps. Of course, as usual, she wanted to get down to crawl and "help out" as well.
By 3:30pm, most of the items have already made their way down and loaded into the 40ft container. Unfortuantely, the fridge, dining table and the long sofa could not make it and were left stranded under the car park to be picked up later. The movers started unloading the stuff at 4:00pm at Green Heights and then went back to pickup the 3 items. It was only at 8:00pm we were all done and the dog tired movers left. What a day! The only person that was still full of energy and zest is our dear Sofia ...
