Week 3 - Homesick
It has been 2 weeks since we landed in KL, fast eh? It was a busy and hectic two weeks, tons of time and money spent on setting up the house. We started off with an empty kitchen and had to equip it with salt, sugar, milo and etc.. Well, at least the worst is over. We have started to cook healthy and delicious lunch and dinner at home. I really enjoy my mum's cooking and am trying very hard to pickup more dishes from her.
Sofia is settling in very well, does she know that she is few thousand kilometres from her birthplace, Kuching? I doubt so. As I am settling into this big city, I feel lost at times and also homesick. I miss very much the mudane and simple lifestyle in Kuching that I was once bored of. I miss the close proximity to everything, I miss my friends, church, colleagues ... *sigh*
Sofia is keeping me very very busy these days but at the back of my mind, I really do miss very much the life we had in Kuching.
PS. Sofia is out with me shopping almost everyday so much so that whenever we change her clothes, she will sign "car", meaning we will be going out again!!

2 More Pearlies!
Sofia has not been sleeping very well these days, waking up 1 to 2 times a night and it really wears me out. She wakes up for a feed but does not drink much, only 60ml each time. I kept wondering why since she has 3 full meals a day with milk and snacks in between, I really do not think it is hunger that wakes her up at night.
I think I found my answer today. She was surprisingly lying quite still after bath today and out of fun, I peer into her mouth. I got a shock! Just in the upper corner, I saw two molars peeping back at me!
I checked again just to make sure they are really teeth. Oh yes, they are!
I hope they come out quick and the rest too, before I turn into a panda!

Walking Toddler
Sofia is officially a walking toddler! These days, she spends 90% of the time on two feet and 10% on fours. We enjoy watching her walking around like a drunkard, all she needs is an empty beer bottle in one hand, it would complete the picture. At times, while trying to catch her balance, she would even walk sideways like a crab, haha.
But with this new skill, she is capable of reaching greater heights so our child proofing efforts have scaled the wall too! Not to mention we are constantly saying
"No Sofia, that is dirty, pls don't touch that!"
"No Sofia, that is dangerous, pls don't touch that!"
"Sofia, no, no, no ....."
Oh no, we are beginning to sound like a spoilt CD ...

My Man
I was hanging the wet laundry fresh from the washing machine last Sunday with Daddy, when he suddenly exclaimed ,"S***, don't tell me I left my passport in my pants?"
" Oh, that's very funny, are you trying to test how good our new washing machine is?"
Unfortunately, it was for REAL that he left his passport in his pants and the poor little book was drenched with a big hole between the cover and the almost detached pages, as if gasping for air.
Then Daddy started to panic, cos he is suppose to travel this Sunday and there is no way he is going to pass the customs with this passport. He has to get a new passport somehow, somewhat, sometime this week no matter what.
We started off on Monday spending time waiting at the Malaysia Immigration at Subang where he was granted an interview on why was the passport spoilt? In the end the officer said Daddy got to wait for one month but that was out of the question as it was urgent. The officer could not make the decision and referred Daddy to the HQ in Shah Alam with a letter from company. Time wasted.
After more phone calls and what nots, we went down to Shah Alam today and came back with a Daddy similing from ear to ear. He finally got a passport replacement for RM300. What an expensive lesson!
I wonder how many men on earth do actually "accidentally" put their passport into the washing machine? One in a million? Or perhaps one in a thousand? If so, I am so lucky to marry that one in a thousand, whogives me unnecessary stress and anxiety makes my life so interesting and happening!
