Virus Attack

Sofia was battling a throat infection throughout her sleep last night, I could not just lie there and watch sleep while she cried with frustration from the pain right? So I had to toggle between mine and her mattress, giving her a few sleepy pats till she doze off again. I woke up with two big bags under my eyes this morning. Grrrrghhhh ... worse, I can feel thick viscose mucus piling up in my nose and when Sofia coughed directly INTO my face this morning, she must have done a direct transfer of her germs into my throat as well.

I started to feel groggy and lethargic in the afternoon but Sofia was still a ball of energy. It was obvious that she was also coming down with running nose and a cough but nothing seems to stop her from scaling the coffee table, chasing and screaming at the cat.

At times, I wish she can just stop moving and sit down quietly beside me, cos that's what I need most when sick and sleep deprived.

R.I.P.

We had an accident this morning and resulted in a fatality.

Baddie : Sofia
Weapon : Cup of water
Victim : My laptop

I left a cup of water beside my laptop this morning inside my bedroom. Somehow, Sofia managed to sneak into my room while Daddy was getting ready for work. I think she tried to pick up the cup of water to drink but failed. So my laptop ended up having a drink. And it was powered up and connected to the electrical socket at that moment.

After Daddy gave a shout, I rushed to dry up the laptop and thought it looked okay. But after a few minutes, I realised life was slowly ebbing away and the screen went BLANK! I could not think straight for the whole morning. How about my data and documents? This machine belongs to my company, would they excuse my neglience and not ask me to pay? ... ...

I went back to office in the afternoon to seek help but things did not look good. Fortunately, the harddisk was not affected and all the data and stuff can be retrieved. I heaved a sign of relief!

Life with a toddler with itchy hands can really be interesting but this has taught me a HUGE lesson -
NEVER LEAVE A CUP OF WATER BESIDE THE COMPUTER.

Officially A Pre-schooler

Going to school has been smooth for the past two days. I am really glad to see Sofia playing and running around independently when I go and pick her up. It was a total different picture from the beginning when she glued herself to Auntie Tan from the start till the end.

Today, Sofia came back with a drawing done by her using cotton bud. I was beaming with pride when I saw it. Maybe I should frame it up? I guess this painting means more than just a piece of paper to me.

I was debating hard within myself whether or not to send Sofia to preschool back in Aug. The drawing I see today somehow tells me that we have made the right decision. Sofia is having fun, polishing up her interacting skills with the rest of the kids and most importantly, we found she is less closed up now. She accepts new friends more readily and it warms our hearts to see that unrolling in front of us.

I certainly look forward to see what other stuff she brings home next!

Kuala Lumpur Tower

We went up the Kuala Lumpur Tower this evening to watch the sunset and the simmering city under our feet.
It feels like being top of the world up there.
